During lockdown I began walking my dog Ned regularly in a local woodland. These walks became my daily therapy, and I quickly fell in love with the diversity of trees, fauna and fungi.

As a photographer in lockdown with no creative outlet, I took to trying to convey the magic of the area, and in so began to notice the vast amount of fungi.

I eventually reached out to Fred at The Wild Side of Life to join one of his foraging courses and learn more about the fungi.

The course was incredible and changed my entire perspective on the woodland I visit so regularly. My bookcase is slowly filling with books about mushrooms and foraging, and I can’t wait to join another course and learn about preparing and cooking the mushrooms fresh from the forest floor

Anyway, here are some photos of my day on Fred’s course, and some of the other mushrooms I have found in my favourite place.
